CHICAGO — A small group of protesters gathered outside of Mayor Rahm Emaneul’s home on the North Side hours after Officer Jason Van Dyke pleaded not guilty to the murder of Laquan McDonald. The demonstrators say Mayor Emanuel covered up that murder. The protest also comes after Chicago Police shot and killed two people over the weekend when officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. 19-year-old Quintonio Legrier and 55-year-old Bettie Jones were fatally shot.
